| It is hard to believe, but a year has gone by since the day Cynthia, so excited and full of energy, participated in the Boston Marathon. My husband, Jim, decided to train and complete the task that she left unfinished that day. Jim ran wearing the same bib number assigned to Cynthia in 2002, alongside many of her Team-in-Training teammates. Thanks to the support of family and friends who wanted to honor Cynthia's memory he was able to surpass the fundraising goal and successfully completed the run. I know Cynthia was cheering for Jim and for each and every one of her teammates that day with that child-like excitement that was so characteristic of her. |

| Cynthia's Run | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| On Sunday, May 16, 2004 several of Cynthia's friends gathered in Cleveland Circle, near the location where Cynthia collapsed just over 2 years earlier and ran/walked the remaining 4 miles to the Boston Marathon Finish Line. The event was spearheaded by Kathy Ball-Toncic, one of Cynthia's running mates, and was intended to raise funds to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The rain did not dampen the spirit of those who participated and as Cynthia's mom reached the finish line, the last to arrive, Cynthia's presence was clearly felt and signaled by the ringing of the bells from a nearby church. |
