In Memory of Cynthia
The Spirited Runner
While the whole world mourns for your
departure
Your spirit lives on
You showed us how to live
And how to give
Four miles more you were only a Boston
finisher
Four miles short you became a heroine
A legend
May you guide us through the clouds of heaven

Cynthia's spirit lives on through the efforts of the people who knew of her giving and selfless nature.
The following are some of the initiatives that have been started in her memory.
The Dr. Cynthia Lucero Center for Health Psychology
Established at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, the Center sponsors annual lectures on health psychology
issues that were of interest to Cynthia and provides scholarship assistance to students who embody her dedication and commitment
to the profession.  The Center also funds the
Latino Mental Health Training Program intended to train culturally competent clinicians
to meet the mental health needs of the Latino community.

The summer of 2008 is of great significance in that it saw the first group of students enrolled in this program spend time training in
Guayaquil, Ecuador.  Students are spending time in some of the same places where Cynthia completed her internships.  You can
read about these students' experience in their own words by visiting their
blog

Donations to support this important initiative are tax-deductible and can be sent to the Massachusetts School of Professional
Psychology, 221 Rivermoor Street, Boston, MA 02132.
Cynthia Lucero Memorial Run/Walk
A memorial run/walk event intended to celebrate Cynthia's life and raise funds for the scholarship and center that bears her name.
Alan Lam
Dr. Cynthia Adela Lucero Award
